Important Information for COVID Positive Cases

Dear AHA Families and Staff,

I want you to know how much you are appreciated, and we are here for you in these trying times.  I have some specific information to share with you regarding COVID.

In the event that either YOU or A STUDENT are COVID positive, or are in isolation and/or quarantine please contact School Nurses, Melissa and Patrick Parker.

This contact will help us to initiate protocols that include coordinating a contactless materials distribution (delivery either by hand or by mail) to you, as needed.

Additionally, in the interest of minimizing any potential for spread of the virus at the school; if you have been on campus during the time of your illness, or within two days prior to onset of your symptoms, we will need to coordinate school closure and disinfecting procedures as well.

Finally, due to the overwhelming number of cases reported to the NM Department of Health; they are no longer able to conduct daily follow-up calls to people testing positive.  In light of this most recent development, our Health office staff will be conducting frequent check-ins in order to offer support to you and your family.

To AHA parents and/or guardians:

Additionally, if your student has a health condition such as asthma, life threatening allergies, seizure disorder, diabetes, or other chronic conditions for which we may need medications on site when we return or for which we need to train their teachers to recognize during virtual class time, please send us their signed Action Plans (asthma and allergy), or Seizure Medical Management Plan, or provider's orders so that we can keep their charts updated and stay current with staff trainings! There are links to medical forms on the APS website. If you have any concerns or questions, and to alert us a positive, please contact us.

Thank you for all you do!
