Bryza Pizano, AHA Lady Jaguars basketball senior, has committed to continue her basketball career at Northlands College in Ashland, Wisconsin.  Pizano signed her letter of intent in a ceremony held inside the Jaguar Den.

Head coach of the Jills, Daryle Tucker believes Pizano is the right fit for his team.

Bryza PizanoHer ability to read passing lanes and get up and down the court will fit nice with our HAVOC defense. You can tell she comes up in a great home. I have been impressed with my conversations with her and her mother. And, when I met them for the first time I was even more impressed. Her professionalism and strength in knowing who she is was impressive. I think she will do well here and fit into our defensive and offensive schemes.”

Lady Jaguars head coach, Joe Montoya, believes it’s PIzano’s work ethic that sets her apart.

She never takes a day off.  Bryza would always ask what she needed to work on and spend extra time working on her weaknesses.  She does all the little things such as great sportsmanship, great character, excellent leadership and, most importantly, excellent in the classroom.”

“I see her role as getting comfortable and acclimated with the team, offense/defense schemes, school and community,” says Coach Tucker about her role as an incoming freshman.  “It’s going to be difficult initially, but I think she will get it. It’s always the toughest part of transitioning to college. I think…we are going to see great things.”

Coach Montoya echoes much of what Coach Tucker believes.

“Be prepared to balance basketball and school.  Time management will be one of the most important skills she will need to be successful in basketball and school.  Continue to set goals for herself in the classroom and on the basketball court.  Enjoy the experience!”

Congratulations to Bryza Pizano and Jaguar Nation looks forward to following your career.
